In the 1996, 97 and perhaps earlier, editions of the Arrl Handbook, a
floopy disk included with the book contains the program SHADOW.EXE, by
K6WX, which, with the input of local latitude, longtitude, date, time and
time zone number. It will then calculate, for your location, at what time
the sun's shadow points north. Information on this is on page 20.30 of
the '97 Handbook.
And no, I receive no consideration from the ARRL or anyone else for
supplying this info. Just thought it would help.
