[TowerTalk] Effects of Magnetic Storms

     There is considerable misconception among the ham community
     about how magnetic storms are caused,though there is general
     recognition that high Kp or Ap index numbers generally spell 
     poor HF conditions - at least at mid latitudes.There is an 
     excellent web site that reviews the current state of knowledge
     at http://www.nas.edu/ssb/cover.html. (The ssb here refers to
     the Space Science Board - not single side band!) John. N3HBX.
