Well, I'm far from an "insider," but my understanding of the situation
is that there were originally two partners involved in Command
Technology. For some reason, they decided to split, and QRO was born
from that decision. I picked this up from fellow contesters in the area.
The end result is the continuation of a fine tradition of hi-power HF
amplifiers originating from northwestern Ohio. Strange, though, that two
companies in this same hobby area should wind up in the same
small-but-nice northwestern Ohio town.
I don't own a product from either company. It pains me to pay the state
sales tax, but if I needed a quality amp in a hurry, I could be in Amp
City in just under an hour. Of course, I'd have to place my order well
in advance.
Hope this clarifies the situation.
