Hi Roger , Not questioning self spotting, but you should get picked up by
skimmers when CQ ing?? W3LPL is a great example. I'm on all bands this weekend
from MD4K, we were getting out well in the SSB event with a dipole at 60ft.

Well conditions were quite up and down last night . . . but good to hearquite a
lot of stations making the effort to get on Top Band on CW.The whole idea is to
at least have a FOCUS of at least one night when we canget a lot of stations on
the band working each other, and Wednesday seems agood choice. (back in the
day it was always Saturday night on 160m . . .but I think these days people
often have social lives with their partners orfamily at the weekend)I usually
come on the band from 23.30Z to 01.00Z . . . then around 03.00 fora while . . .
then around our Sunrise (07.00)One thing I have noted . . . after working a few
NA stations, I called CQfor ages, with no replies . . . so I spotted MYSELF on
the DX Cluster (naffthing to do, I know) . . but guess what? I then started
getting LOADS ofreplies.So please guys, can we try and Spot each other, to
promote CW activity?(The FT8 boys do this all the time!) I know some people
make a point ofalways doing this, like W0FLS - thanks Dave ! And I've said it
before, but I'll say it again . . . it doesn't matter howmany times I've worked
a station before . . . EVERY QSO over 2000 miles onTop Band gives me a thrill .
. . so please don't hesitate to give me a callif you hear me on ! (and I'm sure
most other British stations think thesame)Hope we can have even more CW
