Sorry for putting the list on moderation some recently. The FT8 discussion
was spiraling again - and that just isn't a subject we are going to solve
here on the list. Sure - there are lots of strong opinions out there - but
I feel that all sides of the issue have been explored and the vast majority
of subscribers are not interested in seeing that issue hashed out AGAIN.
I was QRL for a brief time during the moderation and some messages were
delayed - sorry for that. Someone pointed out that it must be nice to be
king. Actually, there is very little nice about having to do this job. I
would much rather not put the list on moderation - but that requires
everyone to keep their emotions in check.
I recently asked one person to stop putting signature phrases on their
posts. I felt that one of them crossed into a political statement and that
is just a precedent that will not sit well here. Nobody is tuned into this
list to get enlightened on your personal political views. If I tolerate
one person expressing them - then I would have to allow it for everyone.
The door must remain shut.
In other news - the band has been open to Europe the past few mornings here
in Oregon. Likely - these openings will be good for the next couple of
months. They only occur during low sunspot activity - so get on the air
and enjoy them.
