Hi, Mike

After seeing your post, I googled 833-C and saw your picture on one of the
sites! In the "old days" they were 833A and didn't have the big graphite
plates! :-)

Have fun!

BTW - I have a 3-500Z amp that evolved much the same as yours! I don't have
a complete schematic either. It started out in life as a GG 4-400A 160 amp
that was built by N4JJ. Over the years, I added bandswitching and converted
to 3-500Z -same socket and wiring and I wound a ferrite binocular input
matching transformer that works fine 160-10m!

Nice to see someone doing it the way we did in the "old days"! :-)

Regards,
Charlie, K4OTV

Well, mine's not much to look at. I sort of designed it as I was building
it, using junk parts that I had on hand. And there's things I should have
done differently. A short explanation is at
http://www.w0btu.com/833C_linear_amplifier.html . There's no complete
schematic.

It's not completed yet. I'm just having fun using it as is right now. And
we're certainly looking forward to the 160 DX season!

http://www.w0btu.com/files/misc/833C_linear_amplifier/?C=M;O=D has other
photos from different stages of building it.
