The votes are in. Wait until dark. I listened again and tried a
different RX later on. I heard one, very faint, unusable signal.
Probably one of those 10 KW stations - or maybe a QRP op in Ohio <grin>.
I will give QRP a try but I expect to crank in all 35 watts output.
Unless we get the expected thunderstorms. Then I'll be practicing with
my accordion.
