Frank,
the loading coil looks very fantastic :-). Better overkill than building a
"fryer for the bugs" (low Q = heat = fry?)
Seeing the pictures on your website, the FCP seems to be the right solution
for your lot too.
I have installed an 80m 4 square and had the problems with the building on
my property. No pairs of elevated radials possible. 1 (straight) radial =
high angle radiation = no good
The FCP helps me to have a small footprint and reducing coupling within in
my 80m 4 square system.
Yet I have not really completed it. Two verticals are fullsize, 1 has top
load and another one is inv L style. ( two MUST be shorter than 15m :-(
)
I am working to make them all 15m tall with topload. I think it is very
important to have the verticals all the same shape.

I will have my 160m FCP balun soon and I want to replace 4 fullsize
elevated radials ( 27m tall single 160m vertical).
In October I hope I can lay down some 60 ground radials. Maybe I can leave
the FCP installed and can do some A/B testing.
I am sure it is not so fair because the "still in place" ground radials will
help the FCP.
In June/July I am on vacation with Masaru JA5AQC. We are going to the
Ham-Radio Ham Fair in Friedrichshafen and later for 2 days to HB0 (later I,
OE,OK, SP,....)

I have an 18m portable mast and will try an FCP there too. For the 48hours
beeing in HB0, the FCP should be perfect :-)

good to see, that the FCP idea is going around the world.
Thanks to Guy, K2AV!

Betreff: Topband: VO1HP 160M FCP
Today I deployed the K2AV 160M FCP on my existing Inverted L which hangs off
the side of my tower.
Using the BALUN DESIGNS transformer.
I posted a few pictures on my website at www.vo1hp.ca under the 160M FCP
menu item. The FCP is about 8-9ft above ground weaving through the trees in
the yard.
No on air testing yet ...will be on the band tonight to see if anyone or
the Reverse Beacons can hear me!
