A couple of years ago took a QS1R SDR RX to St John Island while attending a conference just to see what a 160 CW contest sounded like from down there. Hung about 50 ft of wire from the balcony in daylight and tuned the bands with lots of signals. Came back after dinner at night and fired up. 'S-meter' on computer was basically 'pinned'. No signals. Looked out and every balcony had two of the new energy efficient lights (not sure what they were). QRN cleared with the sunrise!
