In response to Trey, KJ4FDV, and his excellent comments:

I was delighted that Trey spoke to us on the personal challenges of
doing radio in this age of easy global digital communications. The
adventure of radio that is as old as radio itself and part of the
reason that so many of us have devoted so much of our lives to its
pursuit. The challenge and adventure of radio are there for those who
want it and it is a personal thing. To cheat is to cheat ones self,
which in my case would spoil the entire adventure.

For me, the joy of radio is the adventure and challenges that it
brings to Life. I have been doing radio since I was a teenager and it
has opened a whole world of science and engineering to me and made me
aware of the world in a way that would not be possible any other way.
The range of learning and experiences to be had from this wonderful
activity is extraordinary and I think it can shape the lives of its
devotees. Amazing things happen because of this hobby and becoming
interested in radio as a child can made all the difference. Radio
amateurs often tend to be extraordinary people, or perhaps they become
extraordinary people because they do radio. Trey, you will find that
you are in good company on Topband.

Steve, AB4I
