For those of you using or planning to use WD1-A wire for 2-way
Beverage be advised that one or both conductors can OPEN as time goes
by, especially if the wire insulation has been breached. This has
happened to me a couple of times the past few years, and my E-W
Beverage is currently in need of replacement for this reason.
The way to test for this is to short the far end, and check the ohms
at the feed end. I do this now every few months as a matter of
routine maintenance, but I sure can detect the problem when I try to
use the defective Beverage in the reverse direction.
