I began 160m last January after 30 years of "other" DX'ing.
I started with a shortened (loaded) Inverted V.
CE1/K7CA was on every night like clock work and loud
He never heard me.
I bought an amplifier for 160m. SB-220 wouldn't do the band.
CE1/K7CA still could not hear me.
I put up an Inverted L and then I worked first call under marginal
conditions. (he was really weak that particular night).
And as I found later from this group, lots of radials. Then more radials.
