Lars,
If I have a needed station who CQs in my face whenever I call, I will always
switch speeds a couple times before giving up.
I usually leave the keyer at 20WPM because that seems to be a good
compromise between QRS and having a hard time timing things out in pileups.
But I'll try faster or slower if I have trouble getting through... and will
QRQ if I find the station I'm trying to work has short, sharp fading. I
think it's important to consider that slow speed might be hurting you
depending on condx.
