Hi Bob,

This past winter, some critter, or other (I suspect it was a VERY determined
squirrel) decided that he / she was going to get inside one of the plastic
Folger's Coffee containers that houses the air variable capacitor that I
tune one of my inverted "L's" with, to see if there were any "goodies"
inside to eat...

I wouldn't have minded the varmint doing it once, but he / she did it FOUR
TIMES...and on one occasion, the open container filled with water, & froze!

That rascal even ATE about one & a half inches of teflon insulated wire that
was inside --- copper, & all!

I tried sprinkling the area around the container with bleach, turpentine,
and even moth balls...but nothing seemed to work. Then one day I happened to
be inside one of the local "dollar stores", and bought the absolute BIGGEST
bottle of cheap cologne, for the LOWEST price I could find. It smelled
strong, and boy did it have staying power!

I poured about an ounce, or so, inside the enclosure, and sprinkled even
more in the immediate area around it...

RESULT: the critter had better taste(!) than these guys are sometimes
credited with, and he never came back again.

NOTE: if your "visitors" are of the determined variety, you'll no doubt need
to repeat the process at least once per week...
