Fellow Static Crash Listeners,
I have received a reply from Yeasu Tech Support
regarding a separate rcv antenna. Here is Yaesu's
reply for the benefit of those who own an FT857D:

Simple and to the point.
Thanks to all who have replied to my original request. I will have
to use an external T/R relay to switch between antennas.
