Rick,
I have run full legal without any problem with the coil. I will caution you to
have a clean whip above the coil in that you can easily generate a corona
discharge if the end has sharp edges.

Hi all,
I'm
considering trying a Minooka.... long 1" PVC loading coil at the top of
a 30' vertical wound with #18 wire and 6-10 foot whip, much like a
giant mobile antenna.
Does anyone know how much power you can pump into one of these before the smoke
leaks out?
