Well Dr Mahlon Loomis used that "static juice" to transmit 18 miles in 1864 in
Public Demonstration .
He used 400 ft vertical antennas also raised by Balloons and Kites.
I am still waiting for a careful analysis on how many kilowatts can be drawn
down.
Read Thomas Appleby's book "Mahlon Loomis Inventor of Radio" or go to the
US Library of Congress and read the file of a real Radio Pioneer. See also
"The History of the Marconi Company" by William J Baker. St Martin Press 1971
on Page 22 about Dr Mahlon Loomis work.
