Speaking of vertical construction....................

A pneumatic aluminum telescoping vertical has been made available to me for the
taking
from an estate sale.

It was originally developed years ago for the Air Force by the Will-Burt Co. of
Ohio for field
antenna support and, this particular model, is raised and lowered with
compressed air.

Its nested height is 15 ft, extended height is 100 ft. and ONLY weighs 450
pounds.

The base thickness is 7 inches and it uses "leather" seals that have to be
wetted to
maintain pressure.

Certainly, this would be converted to a pinned structure to install and I'm
considering
whether it is worth the effort to make a vertical out of it.
