Bad news from Cocos Keeling Island. Charlie is on his 5th 160m receiving
antenna configuration and NOTHING has helped to cut down the S9+ 'dragon's
breath'. The OTHR has been on every night this week and he has not only
pulled out all his hair but the beard is looking pretty sparse too.
As a result, Charlie says he is going to be mainly on 80/40/30 CW and RTTY,
where the effect of the awful monster is less pronounced. However, he
will continue to listen on 160 and if the beast is away, then he will play
- and if he can hear any 160m signals through it, he as sure as heck will
call them.
