In the spirit of listing things you can't do to artificially make the
"L" broad... How about nixing a pathetic ground system at the feed point that wastes half or more of the energy keeping the earthworms toasty. That will broaden the SWR considerably. Or how about nixing the use of water-logged twelve year old RG59 as a feedline, which will also broaden the SWR considerably. Or how about nixing the use of AC zip cord (or any PVC insulated wire) for the "L" which will also broaden the SWR. Or ...
