I have been thinking about buying an old r-4B and
moding it for 160 use. One of the reasons is that I
have a 125 hz CW filter from an old TR-7 and it has
the same center fq. as the R-4B thus I can install it
as a roofing filter in the 1st IF. What I don't know
is has anyone tested the overload characteristics of
the stock R-4b? I think it may have the same mixer
problems as the r-4c but I don't know for sure.
