Robin,

It was pretty obvious the searchlite was focused on the west side of the
Cascades! My sunrise this morning in the Central WA desert was 1530Z. I first
heard HS72B under the contest QRM at 1450Z. I called continously until 10
minutes after my sunrise when I gave it up as a lost cause. I could still copy
Q4 at 1550Z, 20 minutes after my sunrise. Signals peaked for me about
1510-1515Z. Best copy was on the 280° Beverage, but at sunrise I could hear
just as well on some of my Eastward Bev's!

I hope you can manage to stay on the air until at least 1530Z for the next few
days!

73,

Larry - W7IUV

9 new calls in the log, all between 15 and 16Z.. W7DT, when you called again at
1604, how far after your sunrise was that? Searchlight effect again... and some
folks had the lens adjustment knob remoted to their shack...
