Topband: IC-781 for Low Bands???

Hi,

A friend of mine were operating my "new" Drake twins with Sherwood Mods and got 
impressed with it and because he is looking for a IC-781, he makes me a 
question about a comparison between both rigs (for low bands op.) and I have no 
way to answer it, this is the reason of my question.

Experiences welcome.
