It has come to the attention of the Boring Amateur Radio Club that Christmas
has decided to compete directly with the Stew Perry Topband Distance
Challenge in the year 2004. This means that for a few of the stations, they
would be operating during Christmas morning - and of course most everyone
would be operating during Christmas evening.
As opposed to the normal procedure where a new date is announced and then
everyone says what a bad idea it was, I would like to hear your input on
when you think the contest should be held in 2004. I think the choices go
something like this:
1. Ignore the conflict - Dec 25 1500z to Dec 26 1500z
2. Move the contest up a week - Dec 18 1500z to Dec 19 1500z.
3. Delay the contest until New Year's - Jan 1 1500z to Jan 2 1500z. This had
the odd effect of there not being a running in 2004.
Please send your comments directly to me, and after the BOD has made a decision,
we will post it here.
Thanks for your input.
