Yes, we used my HF2V that way for 40m CW operations on last year's XR0X
expedition. We used 4 radials site-trimmed for resonance on 40m (we didn't use
it for 80m because we had the Battle Creek Special, but it was available for
80m in case we needed it). The mast was 10 feet of chain-link fence rail (2
sections). Worked great (almost 2,800 QSOs on 40m CW).
