To support my K9AY loops I used two pieces of wooden closet rod available 
at Home Depot.  Comes in a couple different diameters and lengths up to 
about 16 ft I recall.    I put two coats of marine spar varnish on the 
poles and spliced them together with a piece of split PVC pipe.
