I'm looking for a new transceiver for 160 meter
operation and am considering the Elecraft K2
with an external amplifier.
It has an outstanding following among QRP operators
and the receiver specifications in the expanded
ARRL reviews look impressive. The idea that it
is a kit also appeals to me because it would
be easier to modify that the modern sets with
their surface mount technology.
Would any topband users have and experience
with the K2?
By the way, my present rig is a Drake TR7.
HAd it for 20 years now and my love of
the radio hasn't diminished.
