I don't know how much RF would be induced into the MP's revceiver with
such an arrangement, but another problem should also be considered -- The
shunt feed on the tower will have to be detuned during receive, or the
Pennant will not have any directivity and will be useless.

K6UR successfully uses a rotatable Flag on his shunt-fed tower by using a
relay at the bottom of the shunt feed to ground it out while receiving.
When transmitting, the relay switches the shunt feed back to it's normal
(transmit) configuration. I don't know what his receiver is and what
precautions, if any, he takes to protect the receiver from any transmit
RF picked up by the Flag.

The FT-1000MP's receive antenna input jack has a relay in the circuit
which automatically opens it from the receive circuitry while
transmitting. However, as an extra precaution, using a device called a
"front end saver" has previously been advised on this reflector.
