Hi Gang
I was on this morning from 0900z to SR but never heard ANYONE [ DX that
is, the usual lads where pounding in ]. I also watched my noise jump from
S2 to S4 - S5 at @ 1000z so I wonder if the 2SR Duct [ 2SRD as I call it,
because it usually opens @ 2 hours before local Sun Rise ] opened up for me
this morning. Noise dropped back to S2 about 30 min before SR here.
Also I should mention that while the duct, if you will, was open I was
getting Med to Hvy QRN crashes here which I also lost at the same time the
duct closed and my S meter returned to S2 QRN. I am still not sure what the
cause is but I think it is linked to the Sun's position on the sunlit side of
the earth.
Any ideas?? Did anyone on the East coast [ or anywhere else for that
matter ] notice the same thing this morning??
