Ahoy TopBanders:

My bride KE4CXI is perusing the Stew Perry Topband DX Challenge results that
I printed and asked me the following:

When was the term "Topband" invented, by whom, and why? "Top" as compared
to, or versus, or because of what?
....Wavelength (e.g. 160M vs 10M? -but, 160M is not in the HF segment),
maybe operator excellence?

Will the term Topband, presently associated with 160M, be incorrect or a
misnomer if the 136kHz experimental allocation (or similar low freq) is
approved for permanent amateur use in the USA and other countries?
