Steve, Before you go to a lot of trouble with your 2 element beam please
check the (TOA take off angles) for a 2 element beam less then a 1/4 wave
above ground. It appears that you may be concentrating to much energy
where it will not do much good for DX. I suggest for a killer signal you
try the 4 square or a bob tail curtain. The bob tail, if you can use a
bi-directional low angle broadside pattern, requires two properly spaced
supports at least a 1/4 wave high and it appears to be two half wave long
inverted L 's connected together at the top and voltage fed at the center
connection with a 1/4 down lead in the center. Since it is voltage fed it
may not be as ground dependent as current fed antennas.

Good luck
