Most of the comments on this interesting thread are from well equipped
stations with bevs, etc.

lot--with no receiving antennas--who got spoiled with the excellent condx
during the period ending spring of 98. . . . . It's folks like me who are
missing! Mainly, because we can't hear much! Even though I worked 103
countries and all continents 3 years in a row, I haven't worked a continental
European (Azores worked) or Asian station either last year or this. I did
hear Wolf, DF2PY for a couple of minutes the other evening--so maybe there is
hope!
It's been fun snagging the excellent Pacific operations for some new ones,
but it is tough to not hear any EU or JA stations.
Call this the "inbetween times" when folks without either location advantage
or good receiving antennas might as well read ON4UN's books in the evening
(and mornings).
