John makes some very good points regarding the static buildup which
will
occur on a balloon vertical. Believe me, it's enough to sit you on the
seat of your pants....Solution...ALWAYS keep the ground end of the
thing GROUNDED while you are preparing to fly it, unless of course
it's
already grounded through the tuner. Probably the most important reason
I will never do a coax direct to a quarter wave. Although the article
did show a poorly designed LC network, this is one of the best you can
use, because it's at DC ground ALL the time.
