Anyone notice a change in band condx lately? I am hearing the ZL digital
signal on 1817 khz up to about 1300z now whereas just a few weeks ago
it peaked at 11z and was more or less gone by 1130z.
KH2/K4SXT was readable at 1200z this morning but very weak.
Can't wait for the band to really open up so I can give my horizontal
receiving loop on top of the tower mast a workout. One thing I have
noticed about receiving loops: I tuned it on the roof of my house using
a pair of wireless headphones. I noticed a lot of tv/computer hash
that was a real pain but when the loop was put on the tower and the
tower extended, that kind of crud is gone.
I live on a small city lot so I have to put up with all this. For us
suffering city QRPers, try to get receiving loops, etc, as far away as
possible from tv sets & computers. It helps.
