The following was posted by Fred K3ZO regarding 80/160 operations
during CQ WW CW from Thailand:
I have just been informed by E21CJN that the Thai PTD, instead of just
allowing HS0AC 80 and 160 meter operation in this year's CQWW CW Contest,
will allow ALL HS's and E2's, including private individual stations, to use
80 and 160 meters during this year's CQWW CW Contest. This could mean that
a single-operator station might choose to do a single-band operation on one
of these bands during the contest, making a Zone 26 80-meter contact far
more feasable than during past contests. Indeed, E21CJN said HS0ZAA was
delighted to hear the news and may indeed be planning such an operation.
If I understood correctly, the 160 meter portion permitted will be
1815-1850 KHz.
I know of multi-operations from HS0AC, E22AAA and HS5AC already planned,
with an HS7AS multi operation already planned. For those who still need
Zone 26 on 80 for your 5BWAZ, this is the time to be e-mailing your
favorite Thai about an 80 meter sked during the contest.
