Band opened into eastern North America and Europe somewhat spectacularly
last nite, but in patches. First in the log was VE1ZZ at 2114, peaking at
589. When Jack is this strong, sometimes signals go a little further.
Surely enough, after a battle with some stubborn QSB and QRN, Jim K1MEM was
extracted from the noise at 2129Z. I haven't checked the distance, but as
Jim is in MA think it is probably my longest LP QSO.
Also worked was Foti SV8CKM at RST 589. All the other signals heard were
considerably weaker than VE1ZZ and SV8CKM, except for SV8JE. A couple of
DLs were 55/69, while G3SED was RST 559, calling CQ DX at 2135, well after
VK6 sunrise.
