Earl (K6SE) describes the original inverted V antenna of the 1930's,
although somewhat lower than the original. Strangely enough, I was
reading one of my history books this am, and saw it there.............it
was apparently recommended to their listeners by the BBC 'Empire
Service' in the 1930's.
I put up a EWE this weekend, but haven't evaluated it yet: there's a
tree half way along which I had to chop back (not a Yew tree!), but that
might do as the centre support for the inverted V approach.
