Hi All, August 24 1240z, on 1832, several cq calls and no replies and nil
heard. At 1303z Bob, N7UA replied to a cq call followed, in order worked by,
W7TB, N6TR, VE3IY/7, VE7BS, W7AWA, VQ9SS, K7RAT, UN5J, N5KO...at 1341z I
replied to a cq by NL7Z. A good opening for a change. All sigs averaged s6/7
though there was heavy QSB.
2145/2240z (sunrise) band quiet only European hrd/wkd was LA9GX, YC0LOW was
QRV as usual around 1824/1828.
The main news is, Pres, VQ9SS said he would be there until November and was
heard later calling cq on 1833, ZL4WA was a good signal on 1830 calling cq.
VK6VZ, Steve, told me there was a good opening on August 23rd to the West Coast.
The purpose of this e-mail is to try and tempt more West Coasters to get up
before sunrise!!!!
73 es dx de Mike VK6HD
P.S. nil heard at sunset (1000z) except VK and ZL...Still looking for that
East Coast opening.
