Hi Fred! It's been so long since I've had a shunt-fed tower (6 years!), I've
forgotten which does what, but I do rememember that this was covered in an
article on shunt-fed towers by Earl Cunningham (W5RTQ and now K6SE) which I
first read in the ARRL Antenna Anthology (out of print now) but was a
reprint from QST article of the '70s. I always considered this THE gospel
article on shunt-feeding towers -- at least it got me going and I referred
to it many times over the years. I think Earl is on this reflector now so
maybe he will offer some thoughts.

Heading for 2 weeks at the Delaware beach tomorrow, but if you still need
the info send me a note and I'll mail you a copy of the article upon our return.
