I will be leaving Sri Lanka on 30 March. I will be sad to leave after such
a long association but the time has obviously come to move on.
I first came here in 1989 working on a telecom job then came again in 1990
to write the spec for the current job I have been working on for last 3.5
years namely a telecom system for the Ceylon Electricity Board. It is up
and running, with data going through it, as long as the lightning stays away!!
I have passed the rig on to Victor 4S7VK for whom I am eternally grateful.
He and his family welcomed me and let me stay over at their home to operate
1.8 and the first question on seeing me the following morning was "how?".
About 1 in five times I was able to respond with such replies like ""5 5
SMs, 3 DLs, a couple of Gs etc."" Other times it was ""heard a couple of
UAs!!""
