Yes it works fine. On Aruba a couple of years ago we worked VK9NS off
the back of an unterminated beverage for Europe. Also we worked lots
of southern California and Arizona from Curacao off the back of a
beverage pointed at Africa & Brazil that was definitely a compromise
antenna only 380' long and patched together. But it heard better than
the 500' beverage aimed NNW we listened on to work most of NA, JA,
etc. I have a 500' bvg about 12 ft above ground at 70 deg that
usually gives me 10 db sig/noise improvement into the pacific at home.
It made working FW2EH easy when they were audible in Michigan.
Sometimes I even hear JA's on it!
