No. Not giving up on TenTec!
I'm not using these much(at all:). Urban RFI has been discouraging.
I picked up a 56' mast and can't stop imagining a new IC-905 in the shack.
Also need one short and one full 45g for the masts base.
525. Not Digital! Has 8 pole filters for both CW and SSB. May need dial
cord soon as it is near end of offset. VFO is smooth. Exceptionally clean
radio. No firmware/software. Have the TenTec fast circuit breaker with
powerpole connector at supply end. Exceptionally quiet radio that I can't
appreciate because of urban RFI.
599. Has stock SSB filter, 3rd party CW filter. Tuner. Clean. Only mod is
repurposed one of the two 12V accessory RCA jacks for key line output. This
way the accessory connector is not doing double duty for line audio and
amplifier keying. Makes shack wiring simpler. Easily reversed. Remove 3/4
inch jumper and add small bridge to reconnect 12V. Have a TenTec cabled
signal link adapter too.
1210 is clean and working. Includes power cord with power pole connector at
supply end.
Centaur is clean. Needs tubes. I bought it that way. Thought I had some old
stock 811A. Was mistaken. Tested OK with a pair of 572 from my Heath amp.
Centurion. Works well. Tubes are average. Make a kW on 10. More on lower
bands. Set up for 240 V. Power cord is a bit frayed at rear. I've been
lazy to replace it.
Let me know if interested in any of this stuff. I can make video demo or
meet for sale after Christmas.
TenTec? I use another Eagle with a Hercules. It's not going anywhere.
