I agree with Carter. I’ve tracked down many noisy electric fence problems. 99
pct are due to bad connections and often with  the spring loaded gate handles.
They loosen up over time and an arc is caused at that point. Easy to find with
a portable AM radio. GL, Rod/w7zrc

Are you absolutely sure the fence is the culprit? I ask because I had a
similar trouble with a strong pulse, at about a 1Hz rate, appearing in my
receiver on 40M. I and a friend went searching with a VHF AM receiver, and
found an electric fence around a pasture, about half a mile due west of me.
The fence was emitting 1Hz pulses that varied in amplitude along the length
of the side parallel to my 40M dipole. I contacted the owner, and he agreed
that the fence was due for some repairs, and that if I could be patient, he
would get to it over the next few months. Several months went by with no
improvement, and I was about to revisit the owner, when I decided to
rearrange a few things in my shack. I was under my desk, tidying up some
cables, and I unplugged a wall wart power supply that was attached to a USB
hub. My receiver was on 40M at the time, and the pulse noise went away. I
plugged it back in, and the noise returned.

That wall wart, a switching supply, met a gruesome fate.

Naturally, I called the owner of the fence and apologized profusely. He was
very gracious, and was actually glad that I had inspired him to do some
much needed repairs.

Moral of the story: Make absolutely sure your own house is in order before
casting about for external causes.
