the other possibility is that the Astron is on the verge of failure... in which 
case the ammeter would certainly point you the right direction.

I have used an Astron 35A for a number of years, and the only time it developed 
heat issues was when I loaded to to 30 + continuous for hours and hours. There 
have been others that have found their way to my bench, that had heat issues 
caused by leaking a leaky cap.. or out of tolerance components.

  BTW, I have a couple ps for sale if someone is interested.

If your Astron 35 amp supply is running too hot running an Eagle, better check 
the current draw that your Eagle is pulling.

It’s POSSIBLE that the Eagle has an issue that is causing it to draw too much. 
This could end up being very costly if you don’t correct it.

I use an RS-35 to run my Orion anti never even gets warm. The Eagle draws 
nothing near what an Orion draws.
