[TenTec] Jupiter serial numbers

I cant remember what tetnec serial numbers did when I product had a
long run.
For example a jupiter with ser no 0!C10331, and knowing last number is
usually year but when radio was produced from 2000 to 2012 how did ser
no change.
Have not pulled trigger on jupiter I am looking at and it has the
above ser no. Its a grey with green screen. 
For example is the 1 2001 or 2011? 
cant remember how they did that.
