If you are changing any back up rig battery, it is good to make up a jig
with an identical new battery, and bridge its clip leads across the
memory battery connection points.
When proceeding to change the old battery, remove it carefully to not short the new battery and mess up your saved info. Some instrumentation is designed to let you quickly pull out a battery, even main power, and swap in a new battery, without loosing any stored items. But there is no easy way to tell that ahead of a swap. Stuart Rohre K5KVH |
