Terry, you have mentioned "decoder" for the second time.
What specifically do you mean?
I don't see a need for a decoder inside my radio.
I decode CW in my head and for digi-modes, we need a computer anyway to
communicate, or at least a tablet PC etc. That can do the decoding with help
of 3rd party software programs (ie FLdigi). There it is easy to change/update.
If you place it inside of the radio, it is not so easy to change.
I think 99% of us here wish Mike all the luck in the world but as you see, we
have tens of different opinions about what he should do, so imagine how poor
Mike must feel.

Rick, is there enough room within an eagle chassis to do what needs to be done?
Doesn't look like it to me. Regarding the panadapter aspect, I certainly like
my 7800 display and I find the Orion display adequate, could there be an option
for an output to a larger video screen such as Elecraft? Two receivers as an
option? Decode functions again that could be option similar to the Yaesu
FTDX1200 decoding option.
I agree with Barry, but wish Mike the best.
I respect everyone's opinion and hope TenTec and Alpha continue to survive.
