Dave,
An Orion 1 or 2 would meet your needs without menus of infinite depth.
Most menus are of depth 1 being selected by a well labeled button.
The amateur band only second receiver is occasionally available.
It has an Analog S-Meter.
It has the capability for enough crystal filters to satisfy the most
dedicated DXer and a fully adjustable digital filter. I like my Orion 1
better than my Omni VII for this reason.
It has the RX only antenna capability.
It has excellent Sherwood numbers for its price. Orion 1s go for
$1000-$2000 often with extras like filters, fans, and remote tuning.
You can use your 9 MHz filters from your Omni VI+
The Orion II is slightly more refined with a color display.
It interfaces easily with other Ten Tec equipment with full breakin
capability.
And it ought to hold you till a better rig comes along.
They are still upgrading the Orion software.
73,
Ed, N5EI
