I don't know where in its history it started, but Ten-Tec for a long
time, possibly since the beginning, did not make a profit from the ham
radio business. It was subsidized by their case and military radio
business.
Up until the early 1990's MFJ products were in Ten-Tec cases.
Without the case and military radio business, Ten-Tec has to make a
profit from the start, something almost impossible to do.
