Saturday noontime, guys/gals:
If one wants a TURNS COUNTER, buy a Vectronics tuner.

I’m kinda of a sticker on this, but when you change something, and its no
longer original, to me, the value goes down.
It’s like drilling a hole in the front of a Collins KWM-380 to add a switch
for a filter.
Does the filter make the radio work better? Perhaps? But in the process, you
have destroyed much of the value of the KWM-380.
Personally, I won’t buy a radio that’s been modified by adding switches or
turns counters… But then that’s just me

Hi All-
I think the 238 is a great tuner but that idiotic dial cord has got to go.
Has anybody replaced one with a good turns counter? If so, what did
you come up with for a turns counter and how did it work out for you?
I don't care that much about the looks I just want it to function well.
I'll probably never sell the tuner so the aesthetics is just not that
important.
On the other hand I would think that adding a good turns counter might
make the 238 more valuable than the original.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
